International Expansion is moderated by Vegard Vevstad, Managing Director of Cencir, Inc., a global management consulting firm specializing in channels of distribution and franchising.
Cencir was established in 1988, but was mainly engaged in foreign language translations until 1999, when Mr. Vevstad left the position of President of the international arm of a major franchise consulting firm (with offices in Tokyo, Manila, Mexico City, Santo Domingo, Lima, Santiago, Montevideo, Bueos Aires, and Sevilla), to devote full time to Cencir.
International client engagements span Nestel (Switzerland, Germany, Italy), Grutman Oriental Carpets (Belgium, Spain), International Investor (Kuwait, Switzerland, UK), Max’s Chicken (Phillipines, US, Australia, Canada, Dubai), Texaco Europe (Norway, Sweden, Denmark), Bon (Dominican Republic), Pollo Campero (Guatemala), Zugatti (Peru), Sushi Parties (Japan, US), and others. Tasks also includes legal research on immigration issues for several organizations in Europe.
Prior his recent US tenure, Mr. Vevstad held a position with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in it legal department. Prior to that, he authored a thesis on international ship financing for his Norwegian Law degree and was awarded the MBA degree from University of Chicago. Earlier, he lived, studied, and worked in Nairobi, Kenya.
